Saline Removal
Providing our Signature Natural 'Undo/Redo' Service
At Celestial PMU, we believe everybody deserves to feel confident.
Our specialist brow tattoo removal services are designed for clients wanting a fresh start, with every treatment carefully selected to prioritise the long-term health and integrity of your skin.
Sometimes, achieving that fresh start requires more than one approach.
Whilst advanced laser technology remains our preferred method of removing unwanted permanent makeup, certain pigments can become resistant to further laser treatments, leaving behind residual colour within the skin.
This is where saline removal may play an important role in your journey.
What Is Saline Tattoo Removal?
Saline tattoo removal is a specialist technique designed to encourage the removal of unwanted pigment from the skin using a professionally formulated saline solution.
Unlike laser removal, which uses targeted light energy to break down pigment particles within the skin, saline removal involves carefully introducing a saline-based solution into the tattooed area using a tattoo machine.
The treatment works through osmosis, a combination of controlled skin disruption and the effects of the saline solution.
Osmosis describes the movement of water towards an area of higher dissolved salt concentration.
When a concentrated saline solution is introduced into the skin, it can influence the movement of fluid within the treated tissue.
As the skin begins its natural healing process, a superficial crust forms over the treated area. Pigment is then carried towards the surface and becomes incorporated into this crust, allowing it to be shed as the skin heals.
The aim is to gradually reduce the appearance of unwanted pigment whilst carefully managing the skin's integrity.
A Combined Approach to Brow Tattoo Removal
At Celestial PMU, we understand that successful pigment removal isn't simply about removing as much pigment as possible. It's about understanding the pigment, the skin, and selecting the most appropriate treatment at every stage.
Where medically suitable, we begin all brow tattoo removal journeys with our advanced Q-Switched laser technology.
However, permanent makeup pigments vary considerably in their composition, colour and response to treatment.
In some cases, residual pigment may remain after a course of laser removal, and become resistant to light energy.
Where further laser treatments are unlikely to provide meaningful improvement, saline removal is considered to compliment the removal journey.
Saline removal can also be considered as an alternative for clients who are medically unsuitable for laser treatment.
Your Fresh Start Begins Here
Whether you're struggling with stubborn residual pigment, have reached a plateau with previous laser treatments, or are considering completely transforming your existing permanent makeup, we're here to guide you.
Every removal journey begins with a thorough assessment of your existing pigment, skin condition and treatment history, allowing us to recommend the most appropriate approach for you.
Saline removal services are strictly only available for those aged 18 years and over.

Saline removal involves using a specialist tattoo machine to introduce a saline solution into the skin, meaning the sensation is often described as similar to receiving a tattoo.
You may experience some scratching, stinging or sensitivity throughout the procedure once the saline solution is introduced.
Some tenderness and sensitivity following treatment is completely normal and gradually settles over the first 24-48hrs.
