Ombré Brows
The 'Wake Up with Makeup' Brow
Ombré Brows is a sophisticated permanent makeup technique that mimics the appearance of soft, powdery makeup.
This technique creates a fuller appearance compared to individual hair strokes. A go-to choice for those who love a HD brow! If you're looking for polished, defined and 'filled-in' brows that last longer than a month like your usual HD brows, this treatment may be the perfect choice for you!
Permanent makeup treatments are strictly only available for those aged 18 years and over.
We strictly cannot offer a permanent makeup treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Some medical conditions can interfere with the healing process or compromise skin health. We are unable to offer PMU treatments to clients with any of the contraindications listed below.
-
Taking blood thinning medication
-
Active skin cancer
-
History of allergic reactions to PMU pigments
-

-
On average, this technique will last between 1 - 3 years. However, this varies significantly from client to client, as longevity is influenced by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
-
Medication
-
Lifestyle
-
Skincare routine
-
Aftercare compliance
Your skin type, age, exposure to UV, skin care routine and overall health can all impact how long your brows will maintain their colour and depth before their due a top-up appointment.
-
Yes, in most cases this technique can typically accommodate and cover existing PMU work effectively.
However, your recommended treatment plan will be determined by several factors, including your specific concerns about your current brows, the density and saturation of pigment already present in the skin and your individual circumstances. During your consultation, we'll assess these elements to create the most suitable treatment plan for achieving your desired results.
Colour Correction/Working Over Existing Pigment:
-
Most brows can be worked over and colour corrected if there's an unwanted hue of colour left behind from previous treatments/laser removal. However, this approach cannot guarantee results as flawless as on virgin brows.
Laser Removal:
-
In some cases, laser removal may be recommended, particularly when existing brows are severely asymmetrical and cannot be adequately balanced to create a satisfactory shape. This preliminary step ensures we can meet your expectations and deliver a brow design that compliments your facial structure.
Our Comprehensive Approach
At Celestial PMU, we also offer laser tattoo removal services, so you can rest assured that upon your enquiry we will work with you from start to finish to create a personalised treatment plan to achieve your dream brows! We'll assess your existing PMU and recommend the best path forward to deliver your desired results.
-
Your initial appointment is 2 - 2.5 hours. During this session, we'll carefully map out your design, giving you a visual preview of your final results before we begin the tattooing process. This ensures you feel completely confident and satisfied with your decision before we proceed with the treatment.
PMU requires a minimum of two sessions due to the gentle technique and shallow placement of pigment within the skin.
You'll be invited back for a complimentary touch-up appointment between weeks 6 - 10, which takes approximately 1 - 1.5 hours.
The treatment can sometimes involve mild discomfort, however this discomfort remains well within tolerable limits. Most clients are genuinely surprised by how gentle the procedure is, and some even take the opportunity to have a little nap.
Clients with sensitive skin or fair complexions may find the treatment slightly more uncomfortable than individuals with darker complexions.
Hormonal factors, such as your menstrual cycle, can also affect sensitivity levels. If you have a regular cycle, we recommend scheduling your appointment during the week following your period when sensitivity is typically lower.
Due to the shallow depth at which PMU is implanted, the procedure is a two-step process to achieve desired results.
The initial session creates the foundation for the design and colour.
PRICE: £175 £250
The touch-up appointment is scheduled between weeks 6 - 10, and allows for colour adjustment, density enhancement, and perfecting the overall appearance where clients may have experienced pigment loss during the initial healing.
The first touch-up appointment is a complimentary service, provided free of charge.
Some clients may require an additional touch-up session, depending on individual factors such as working over previous PMU, lifestyle habits, medications, compliance with aftercare or underlying health conditions that can affect pigment retention.
Additional touch-up at 10 - 24 weeks: £60 (Only if needed)
Colour boost 12 - 18 months: £110
Colour boost 18 - 24 months: £150
Colour boost 24 months+: £200

Permanent Makeup
Permanent makeup is the process of depositing pigment into the epidermis/dermis border of the skin to create fuller brows, mimic makeup, or enhance lip colour. Artists use either handheld tools or tattoo machines to deposit pigment. At Celestial PMU, we exclusively use the most advanced techniques available in the industry - that's why the only device we'll use for ALL our treatments is a tattoo machine. This method is safer, gentler and doesn't compromise your skin's integrity over time.
Yes, your epidermis regenerates and goes through natural shedding cycles, contributing to pigment loss. Throughout the entire time you have permanent makeup, white blood cells within your dermis are collecting small fragments of the pigment under the skin and disposing of it through your lymphatic system, which all contributes to fading over time.
Some clients will experience complete fading with no traces of pigment left behind, others will notice small fragments of pigment left behind. The speed of fading is unique to each client due to the variations in different lifestyle habits which all contribute to the rate of fading, and the rate that their body metabolises the ink.
The longevity of permanent makeup differs for everyone. Most permanent makeup treatments will last anywhere between 1-3 years; however, some clients will notice fading much sooner, and some will notice it lasts much longer.
Examples of what can contribute to faster fading:
-
Sunbed use/excessive UV exposure
-
Hormonal imbalances
-
Oily skin types
-
Improper aftercare
-
Continued use of exfoliants such as retinol and AHAs
-
Frequent use of saunas
-
Swimming
-
Excessive sweating
-
Historically, when permanent makeup first came on the scene, there were only body tattoo pigments available, meaning that PMU brows and lip liner were permanent body tattoos, tattooed with heavily carbon-based ink.
Over the years, PMU has evolved and the name 'semi-permanent' makeup became a popular name for the same treatment due to the development of pigments which were designed to be metabolised.
SPMU and PMU are exactly the same thing - some artists prefer to refer to the services as SPMU, others prefer to reference the services as PMU.

If you have previous PMU work completed by another artist, or you have had laser removal treatments, consultations are mandatory to ensure we can meet your desired goals. We cannot guarantee that we can work over your existing brows/lips, or meet your expectations until we have assessed the existing work and/or any pigment residue remaining from laser treatments.
At Celestial PMU, I take your safety very seriously.
All pigments used are vegan, hypoallergenic and EU compliant. However, adults can develop allergic reactions at any stage in their life, which is why patch testing for a treatment at Celestial PMU is compulsory for every client.
If you attend a face-to-face consultation, your patch test will be completed in the clinic. If you book your consultation via video call, or you do not wish to attend a consultation, your patch test kit will be sent out in the post.
Treatments can be provided 72 hours following your patch test.
